Wild West China tours (Amazing Adventures) are run by Jeremy Jenkin, a native of Buffalo, New York. After serving in the Army, hiking the entire Appalachian trail and graduating with a Sociology degree, Jeremy decided to bike around the world. His journey took several years and covered over 20,000 miles and 30 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America and the USA. After finishing his travels Jeremy has settled in China and Taiwan for nearly a decade. Jeremy chose Chengdu as a base because it has access to some of the most scenic and interesting places in the world. Jeremy studied his masters in Taiwan studies and worked at universities for several years. He has also worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He just returned to the USA as of June 2022 because China's borders were still not open to international tourism and started doing tourism.
In March 2023 China opened to tourism so we expect this summer to resume tourism that will grow over the next few years.

The one thing that I loved about Jeremy's rides were that we never went to the same place twice. We might sometimes enter the same way, but there was always a new twist. Go up the same mountain two or three times but come off it in two or three different ways. It wasn't always just the ride, it was the scenery that went along with it. And no matter what, there was always a good place to eat at the end. I saw more new places riding with Jeremy than when I rode on my own. Going on a ride is an experience you won't forget, and if you enjoyed it as much as I did, you'll be itching to go again.

Jeremy guided us to WenShu monastery from Hongpailou, so many old historical style buildings are along the road. Sometimes we rided along the river. the view is tranquil in this hustle and bustle city. Jeremy knows a lot about Chengdu. After cycling we went to Jeremy’s apartment, He made excellent pizza for the riders. We watched his videos about the riding journey, it was cool.
Anyway, highly recommend!

I've been on probably half a dozen bike trips with Jeremy all over northern Taiwan. He's a fantastic host and a great guy in general. Some of my fondest memories in Taiwan spawned from these bike trips.
I have attended few of Jeremy's bike tours and meet up in Taipei Taiwan. He is very thoughtful to make sure everything is good for everyone, always checking everyone is doing good and comfortable during the whole trip. I must say he is really the expert of bike tour organizer, I enjoyed his tour very much, as he will takes you to not only scenic places for photos, also he takes you to places less traveled, unique and meaningful with real local taste. I highly recommend you don't miss joining any of his wonderful bike tours.

Jeremy hosted a lot great bike rides. We always went somewhere new and it was because of him that I saw so much of Taipei that I otherwise would never have seen. It was always a great time. I also appreciated that Jeremy hosted people from around the world. You never knew who you would meet on his rides. I enjoyed the great rides, great food at the end, and the great company immensely.
Flew in to Chengdu from Los Angeles and Jeremy met my buddy and I at the airport. First time to China for me and it was quite an experience right from the get go. Hung out in Chengdu for a few days and saw the sights and then we took a bus to Ganzi where we started biking. The whole trip from the cities to the countryside, the scenery, the different cultures and languages and people and the food (well some of the food....) is something everyone should check out. Good times!
