4/6 To lake to camp
The 15 of us met in the morning, packed up everything and headed out around 1130. The first couple hours are pretty easy through the countryside and not too bad. We had a nice lunch and arrived at the lake just around 4. There was about a 45 minutes of climbs before getting down to the lake.
There was one family fishing there and left soon after but at least no one took our planned camping spot.
The better spots were down at the water but the bugs were pretty bad when we got there so most people moved above but a lot of the areas weren’t that flat. We then got the BBQ ready and made shish kebab’s, had tuna salad, and later a salmon. There was food left over so no one was going hungry.
Some people went out on the raft we brought. The next morning a local came and told us not to raft because he didn’t want to be responsible.
We had a nice fire and some beers and wine we brought.
4/7
In the morning we headed off before 11 and head lunch in Huaikou about 6 kms away. After lunch we loaded up the bikes on the trucks on went up to the mountain instead of a super steep climb that would probably take a big group about 2 hours.
Although we were at the top of the mountain we had to go down a few minutes before another steep climb. We were up on the ridge for a bit but there was still some climbs.
We finally got to the highest point and then had a long downhill to Jintang. We still had almost 40 kms left but it was mostly on bike roads. It wouldn’t be so bad but it was a little hot and we were a little exhausted. We arrived at my place just before seven. We had a great time and it was one of the best trips we’ve done. A great two day trip I recommend to anyone.
